Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These terms describe how you may use indiedeveloper.org and contribute to its community directory.

1. About the service

Indie Developer is a directory of independent developers, their projects, and the tools they use. These terms apply to use of the website and profile submissions. Please read them before contributing.

2. Your submissions

Submit only your own profile or content you are authorized to provide. Keep it accurate and ensure that you have the rights needed to share names, descriptions, images, and links you include.

You retain ownership of your content. By submitting it for publication, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, format, and display it as part of operating and promoting your listing in the directory. This does not transfer ownership of your projects or grant rights to their source code.

Submissions are made through a public GitHub repository. Submit only information you want publicly accessible. GitHub’s own terms apply to your use of its service.

3. Acceptable use

Do not submit impersonations, misleading claims, spam, malicious links, unlawful content, harassment, or material that infringes someone else’s rights. Do not attempt to disrupt the website or gain unauthorized access to its systems.

4. Review and moderation

We review submissions and may decline, request changes to, or remove content that violates these terms, is inaccurate, or is unrelated to the directory. Submission does not guarantee publication or a particular placement.

Approval of a profile or tool is an editorial decision, not a verification of identity, an endorsement, or a guarantee of quality. If you think a moderation decision was mistaken, contact us to request a review.

5. Updates and removal

You can propose changes or remove your profile through a pull request.

Website changes take effect after review and publication. Removing a listing does not erase public repository history, existing forks, or copies held by search engines and other third parties. Permission to display your listing ends when it is removed, apart from technical backups and records needed to administer the service.

6. Third-party projects and links

Linked projects and services are operated by their respective owners. We do not control their content, availability, terms, or practices. Evaluate them independently before using them or making a purchase.

7. Availability and your rights

We aim to keep the directory useful and accurate, but information can become outdated and the website may be unavailable or change. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free listings, or any particular result from being listed.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will publish the revised terms here and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the website. Changes are not intended to apply retroactively.
